One of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2012 (aka – the year where everyone has agreed to be annoyingly repetitive about the Mayan calandar) was to end my streak of not having a blog. Ends and Beginnings, red lights and green lights, starts and stops. Here we go. Redefining one’s entire way of thinking is a pretty difficult task. It requires the very tricky process of not accepting everything that you have ALREADY learned so that you can interpret everything with fresh eyes. An eloquant writer and a strict professor, John Gardner, said that a writer must learn to see and hear everything differently. It’s not enough to know that the word “discover” means to “become aware of,” but that you also have to realize that discover literally means to “take the cover off of.”
I’m not really sure what this blog is going to be about yet, only that it is a blog that I will be writing; observations, short stories, and puzzling introspections made public. It will by definition be a blog about me, about 2012, about me in 2012, and hopefully not about any Mayans, calandars, or apocolypsi (which is the plural form of apocolypse).
